A Quiet Advent Day with Meister Eckhart

A Quiet Advent Day with Meister Eckhart
Meister Eckhart, b. 1260, said: “We are all meant to be mothers of God. What good is it to me if this eternal birth of the divine Son takes place unceasingly but does not take place within myself? And what good is it to me if Mary is full of grace if I am not also full of grace? What good is it to me for the Creator to give birth to his Son if I also do not give birth to him in my time and my culture? This, then, is the fullness of time. When the Son of God is begotten in us.”

Join Glenn Mitchell and Kimberlee Peifer as they lead a "Quiet Advent Day with Meister Eckhart", Dominican teacher, preacher and mystic. There will be time to encounter the life and words of Eckhart and sufficient silence to birth the words into our lives, a
ll on the beautiful and historic Saint James campus. The day will conclude with an ecumenical mass including themes from Eckhart’s life and teaching.
Led by  Glenn Mitchell and Kimberlee Peifer
"There is a huge silence inside each of us that beckons us into itself, and the recovery of our own silence can begin to teach us the language of heaven. For silence is a language that is infinitely deeper, more far-reaching, more understanding, more compassionate, and more eternal than any other language….There is nothing in the world that resembles God as much as silence.
