The Making Life

Creating a Journal of Your Own

Writing in a journal is a very personal practice. You connect the depths of your life to the words you scribe on the pages. When that journal is one you have made with your own hands, an additional layer of intimacy and connection is added to the journaling process.

In this day long retreat participants will make their own hardcover journal to take home at the end of the day. Participants will learn all the steps in making their journal including sewing one of the most ancient bindings for books—the Coptic stitch. Participants will also take with them printed resources on the process and a list of bookbinding suppliers and paper sources.
