Do you know someone who needs a break or chance to get away for a day? You can provide a chance for a friend or loved one (perhaps your pastor!) to participate in a renewing workshop or retreat, or even in a year-long training experience to deepen their faith. You can give an OASIS GIFT CERTIFICATE in any amount. Simply call our office (717-737-8222) or email oasismin@oasismin.org.

"It's the little things..."

We all have felt the pull of giving to assist with crisis relief, including tsumanis, hurricanes, and earthquakes. We have felt the crunch of gas and oil prices, and investments that may not have boomed in the way all had hoped.

However, it's the little things that make a difference. You know it...a smile, a note of encouragement, a short line in grocery store, a brief pause of silence in a full life...our loads are lightened when we share with each other, even in seemingly small ways.

Alternative Giving

What do you give someone who has everything? An ALTERNATIVE GIFT...this is a chance to say to someone "Your life and your giving have changed people. I honor and respect that so much that as a gift to you I am giving the opportunity for others to deepen their spiritual lives as well." Just let us know what your contribution amount is and who it is in honor or memory of, and we will send a CERTIFICATE OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT to the recipient you identify. The funds received through the Alternative Giving program will be placed in the Sanford Alwine Scholarship Fund to help all people be able to "Draw from the Well of Christ, Contemplatively. • Prayerfully considering PARTICIPATING in one of our programs. Use what you have learned to implement contemplative practices actively in your life and communities . . . and give thanks!

• Becoming a MINISTRY MAKER. As a Ministry Maker, you agree to have an amount, named by you (current participants range from $5-$50), charged to your Visa or MasterCard, each month. To become a Ministry Maker, call 717-737-8222, or email betsykeller@oasismin.org.

• Purchase a MEDITATIVE CD. Brant Lingle, a 2005 graduate of the Oasis Spiritual Direction for Spiritual Guides program, and Pastor of Students & their Families at New Hanover United Methodist Church, has composed "b.e.: a prayer labyrinth of song" during a 3 year spiritual journey.

It is a guided prayer experience in music, designed to create a restful place for people to connect with God. (Prayer guide booklet available as well). Oasis Ministries receives a portion of the proceeds for each CD sold. Price: $15 each + shipping and handling. Email betsykeller@oasismin.org.

• SHOP (with no costs or obligations) at the 600+ stores of http://iGive.com/Oasismin, and without even knowing it, you’ll be helping Oasis Ministries. By doing a little shopping, here and there, up to 26% of your purchases will be donated directly to Oasis Ministries! It´s all free & private.

• CREATIVE GIFTING to Oasis in unique ways: One of the area spiritual directors chooses to invite her directees to "give back to God" by making a contribution to Oasis in honor of their time together in spiritual direction . . . One Oasis spouse gave her husband a Christmas gift of being a Ministry Maker – an alternative gift he "receives" all year long! Share your creative gifting with us at oasismin@oasismin.org.

• VOLUNTEERING to help with mailings, phone calls, data entry, and so forth.

• DONATIONS to help others participate in Oasis’ programs through the Sanford Alwine Scholarship Fund* This fund provides aid to people feeling called to participate in our program but do not have the full financial resources to do so.

• Giving to MULTIPLYING THE MINISTRIES – the 5-year campaign to establish a permanent endowment fund. An anonymous donor is matching the funds raised by this campaign (up to $75,000), making contributions at the end of 2005, 2006, and 2007! We are about halfway to our goal. Meeting with people in spiritual direction, I am always aware of how rare taking time for stillness and listening is in our hurried lives. People like you make that sacred space possible.
