Exploring Spiritual Direction

A Retreat Day

Come join us for "a day apart" coupled with an introduction to spiritual direction. We will explore both the receiving of spiritual direction as part of an individual’s spiritual walk as well as what is involved in a ministry of offering spiritual direction. As part of the day, there will be time for prayer and quiet reflection along with a “real” play of a spiritual direction session, presentations about spiritual direction, sharing with others interested in the spiritual life, and information about Oasis Ministries’ training program, Spiritual Direction for Spiritual Guides.

LEADER: Glenn Mitchell (Director of Training and Program), is the lead presenter/facilitator for Spiritual Direction for Spiritual Guides, Deepening Year for Direction Ministries, and Returning to the Well. Glenn served as a Church of the Brethren pastor for 23 years in Maryland, Minnesota and Pennsylvania, before transitioning his ministry to the area of spiritual formation and direction in 2001, and is a graduate of Shalem Institute. Glenn has led a variety of retreats around the country on themes of prayer, spirituality, spiritual direction, nature and spirituality and the interplay of art and spirituality. He has a private practice of spiritual direction and retreat leadership in State College, PA
