Our part
in spiritual direction, I think, is mostly willingness and deep
openness; everything of significant value for our minds comes from
these qualities.

"When
we gather in a spiritual direction session we are called to recognize
the holy ground upon which all life stands. Together we probe what God
is growing in that ground. We seek for our unique place among the
growing shoots of life we see. We listen for how the Spirit is
loosening, planting, pruning, healing and enjoying us."
