As
you meditate on the following passages from the Prophecy of Isaiah,
insert your
own name or names (nicknames, or other ways you are known,
as it seems right) in the spaces indicated—hearing God speaking
directly to you through these words.
Thus
says the Lord,
… who created you, O [Jacob]____________,
… who formed you, O [Israel]____________,
Do
not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name ____________,
you are mine.
When
you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and through the rivers,
they shall not overwhelm you;
when
you walk through the fire
you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume
you.
For
I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your
Savior…
You are precious in my sight, and honored,
and I love you…
Can
a woman forget her nursing child
that she should have no compassion
for the child of her womb?
Even
these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
See, I have inscribed your name ____________,
on the palms of my hand.
Isaiah
43:1–4; 49:15–16
