Bring Many Names: An Interfaith Day of Retreat

My God: How beautiful and infinite are your names! You are always called by the name of our most intense desire...”

(Beginning of a poem by Ruben Alves; translated by Sherron George)

What is your deepest desire for life, for God?

Using the lovely fable In God's Name, by Sandy Eisenberg Sasso as a springboard, we will seek to uncover some of the names, or qualities, by which the Holy One speaks to each of us wherever we are in life. On this day of prayer you will find rest and renewal for your spirit as we open our hearts to some of the many faces and names for God.

Leadership:

Rabbi Choper is the rabbi at the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg and an organizer of interfaith dialogue as founding director of the Religion and Society Center. It was through his interest in Jewish-Christian dialogue that he came across Oasis Ministries over 15 years ago and began several years of spiritual direction with Kent Groff. Later he participated in a series of contemplative retreats and shared study with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality and became an early member of the Institute's Hevraya (Fellowship). He lives in Harrisburg and enjoys writing and playing violin.
